The Biden family and staff have attributed Joe Biden's subpar performance in a recent debate against President Trump to CNN. Reports indicate that Biden, who was allegedly suffering from a cold, appeared "pale and pallid" during the debate held in Atlanta last Thursday.

Biden had established the conditions for the debate, which included having CNN host it in June rather than the usual fall season, demanding no audience presence, and requiring a mute button for Trump. Despite these terms intended to favor Biden, the event ended unfavorably for him.

In response to Biden's disappointing performance, criticism has been directed at several senior staff members for potentially over-preparing him during his retreat at Camp David. CNN also faced heavy criticism regarding its handling of the debate.

CNN is specifically blamed for making Biden appear pale on camera due to makeup applied by its staff, despite reports that he arrived with a 'summer tan.' This aspect was reported by both The New York Times and Politico.

An excerpt from The New York Times highlights concerns within Biden’s family about his preparation team:

"Members of Mr. Biden’s family were likewise said to be focused on the president’s staff...They were asking why Mr. Klain...would in their view allow him to be overloaded with statistics...and they were angry that Mr. Biden...was made up to look pale and pallid."

Politico also noted complaints from Biden's campaign staff about how CNN managed the debate:

"Additionally, Biden’s campaign staff only grew angrier at CNN as to how the debate was run...Their complaints were lengthy...that moderators should have fact-checked Trump more often...and that the makeup staff made him appear too pale..."

A post criticizing CNN's portrayal of Biden went viral after the debate, gathering nearly six million views on X Twitter. Stephanie Winston Wolkoff commented on this visual presentation through her social media platform.

Body language expert Joe Navarro provided an analysis in Politico comparing Trump's appearance favorably against Biden's:

"The first thing I noticed about Trump was his tan...Biden looked white as a sheet next to a sun-kissed Trump..."

Navarro further remarked on Biden’s body language during the debate:

"I have watched Biden since the early ’90s...this is the most stoic I have ever seen him..."

Despite these criticisms and observations, reports suggest that Hunter Biden leads efforts within the family not wanting Joe to withdraw from future debates.
