Bernie Sanders spoke at the Democratic National Convention, criticizing the influence of wealthy donors in politics and asserting that rich individuals should not be able to buy primary elections.

This statement comes amid controversy following Joe Biden's debate performance. In July, prominent Hollywood donor George Clooney wrote an op-ed for the New York Times, urging other significant donors to withhold contributions from the Democratic Party until Biden was replaced. Subsequently, major Democratic donors withdrew their support from Biden, effectively pushing him out of the race and paving the way for Kamala Harris to become the nominee.

Despite these events, Sanders addressed the DNC crowd: "Billionaires in both parties should not be able to buy elections, including primary elections."

Additionally, Sanders acknowledged economic struggles under the current administration: "Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck under Kamala." Critics argue that if Harris implements Sanders' policies—such as raising taxes on the middle class and providing free healthcare for undocumented immigrants—the situation could worsen.

The Trump War Room commented on social media: "Just imagine what it'll be like if Kamala gets the chance to implement Bernie's policies — raising taxes on the middle class, free health care for illegals, and outlawing private health insurance!"

Questions have also been raised about Sanders' motivations and whether he will receive further personal benefits for his support of Harris.
