GEORGIA BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION: GBI Arrests Dalton Man for Murder

Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued the following announcement on Aug. 20. 

Update:

On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation obtained arrest warrants for Christopher Napolean Barrett II  for Murder, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, and Felony Theft by Taking.   Barrett, a 35-year-old Dalton resident, was found in possession of David Casler-Tyrrell’s vehicle in McMinn County, Tennessee.  Barrett was in custody in Tennessee and was extradited to Georgia where he is being held at the Whitfield County Jail. 

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation also charged a third individual in the death investigation of Mr. Casler-Tyrrell.  An arrest warrant was obtained for Darius Knight, a 19-year-old Dalton resident, for Concealing the Death of Another.  Knight is being held at the Whitfield County Jail.

ORIGINAL STATEMENT

On Thursday, August 12, 2021, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation initiated a missing persons investigation at the request of the Adairsville Police Department.  David Casler-Tyrrell was reported missing by a family member after Mr. Casler-Tyrrell did not return home from his job in Whitfield County, Georgia.  The investigation revealed that Mr. Casler-Tyrrell was the victim of foul play that occurred in Whitfield County and resulted in his death. 

The investigation of Mr. Casler-Tyrrell’s death is active and ongoing. 

Andrew Isaac Connor, a nineteen-year-old Tunnel Hill, Georgia resident, was arrested during the early morning hours of August, 13, 2021 for Concealing the Death of Another and Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer.  Connor was booked into the Whitfield County Jail.
