Proposed Substantial Amendment to the 2017 CDBG-MIT Action Plan
Notice is hereby given by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs of a proposed Substantial Amendment to the 2017 CDBG-MIT Action Plan. The proposed amendment involves a supplemental allocation of CDBG-MIT funds to the communities affected by Hurricane Michael in 2018. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive citizen comments on the Substantial Amendment.

Summary: This Substantial Amendment addresses the supplemental appropriation of $2,669,000 allocated to the State of Georgia by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This funding is intended to assist the communities affected by Hurricane Michael in 2018 with the mitigation of vital public infrastructure to reduce and/or eliminate the risk to people and property in the wake of future natural disasters.
This amendment will detail the specifications surrounding usage of the CDBG-MIT funds as well as an updated timeline of expenditures.
The supplemental appropriation requires a substantial amendment and public notice as described in the HUD Federal Register Notice 86 FR 561.
