President-elect Donald Trump hosted a New Year’s Eve gala at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. The event took place on Tuesday night, with Melania Trump by his side. Among the attendees were Vice President-elect Senator J.D. Vance, Elon Musk accompanied by his son X, and Senator Ted Cruz.
During the event, Trump addressed reporters on various topics including Speaker Mike Johnson, former President Jimmy Carter, and hostages held by Hamas. He expressed support for Johnson stating, "He's the one that can win right now. People like him. Almost everybody likes him." Trump confirmed his plans to attend Carter's state funeral on January 9 and urged Hamas to release hostages before he takes office on January 20.
Photos shared by Team Trump highlighted Vance and his wife Usha at the celebration. Videos from Margo Martin showed the Trumps walking the red carpet while Howard Mortman captured arrivals of notable guests including Elon Musk and Don King.
Trump briefly spoke to supporters inside after addressing reporters outside. Lara Trump also performed during the evening.
