Comedian Adam Carolla recently shared his views on the progressive movement during an appearance on the 'Triggernometry' podcast. Carolla argues that progressives begin with ideas that seem reasonable but continue pushing until they reach extremes, leading to public skepticism and backlash.

Carolla provided an example of how the left transitioned from advocating for marriage equality for gay people to supporting gender surgeries for minors within a few years. He elaborated on this perspective through a partial transcript shared by Eric Abbenante on Twitter/X.

Adam Carolla explained, "It's called a progressive movement. And if you take progressive and movement, it means it just keeps going. They never pump the brakes." He continued by describing how initial reasonable requests evolve into more controversial issues: "You go, Why shouldn’t a gay couple be allowed to marry so they could have the same rights and privileges... Give it to them and then we can move forward."

Carolla noted that subsequent demands become more contentious: "And then they go, Well, what’s wrong with a little trans story hour? Well, we’re thinking about trans kids... getting healthy breasts cut off when they’re 13 and taken puberty blockers." He concluded by expressing confusion over being labeled as homophobic or bigoted for opposing such developments: "You’re like, what is going on? Well, what’s going on is they keep going."

This commentary reflects Carolla's view of the progression in politics as described in his discussion.
