A recent survey conducted by the Pew Research Center indicates that a majority of Americans approve of Donald Trump's policies and plans as he prepares for his second term. The survey results contrast with how Democrats and media have portrayed Trump in recent years.
According to The Hill, "More than half of the country approves of President-elect Trump’s plans and policies for his upcoming second term in the White House." Specifically, 53 percent of Americans expressed at least "somewhat" or "strongly" approving views on Trump's future plans, while 46 percent disapproved.
The survey respondents showed confidence in Trump's handling of several key issues. Nearly 59 percent are "somewhat" or "very" confident in his economic policy decisions. In terms of criminal justice, 54 percent shared this confidence, while 53 percent believed in his approach to foreign policy and immigration. However, there was less confidence regarding his stance on abortion.
The Washington Times reported that Americans appear warmer toward Trump now compared to previous elections. According to the poll, 43 percent of respondents have a warm feeling toward Trump. This is an increase from 36 percent in 2016 and 34 percent in 2020.
This shift in public opinion comes before Trump has officially taken office for his second term.
