A recent poll conducted by HarrisX indicates that former President Donald Trump would defeat Vice President Kamala Harris by a larger margin than he would against current President Joe Biden in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. The poll results show Trump leading Harris by seven percentage points, while his lead over Biden stands at four percentage points.

This poll was carried out from June 28 to June 30, 2024, involving 1,500 registered voters. It has a margin of error of ±2.5 percentage points. According to the data shared on Twitter by InteractivePolls, when considering voters' leanings, Trump garners 53% support compared to Harris's 47%. In another scenario including third-party candidates RFK Jr., Stein, and West, Trump's lead narrows slightly but remains significant.

The survey also presents figures for a potential matchup between Trump and Biden, where Trump holds a lead of four percentage points with 47% support against Biden's 43%. When factoring in voter leanings, Trump's support rises to 52%, with Biden trailing at 48%.

Rasmussen Reports have echoed similar sentiments regarding Harris's standing among voters. Their findings suggest that many voters are not in favor of replacing Biden with Harris as the Democratic candidate for the presidency. Additionally, Rasmussen Reports highlighted that even within the Democratic Party, there is considerable dissatisfaction with Biden's performance post-debate.

In summary, the current polling data suggest that switching from Biden to Harris might not provide the Democrats with a more favorable position against Trump in the forthcoming election.
