Most commentators at CNN were impressed with President Joe Biden's recent Oval Office speech. However, Scott Jennings, a Republican commentator on a CNN panel, expressed skepticism about the narrative surrounding Biden's decision to end his re-election campaign.

Jennings reminded the panel that not long ago, it was widely reported that Biden was in good health and running for another term. He argued that those close to Biden, including his family and staff, owe the public further explanation regarding this abrupt change.

After Biden's speech on Wednesday, some panelists praised him for what they perceived as a selfless act of stepping away from power. Jennings challenged this perspective by questioning the portrayal of Biden's decision as courageous. "It's odd to me that just a few weeks ago — heck, a few days ago — most Democrats were still looking at television cameras and saying that this person is up to another four years. I mean, he’s obviously running on fumes," Jennings stated.

He continued by questioning how the decision for Biden to run again was initially made and suggested there is more to uncover about the situation: “In fact, I still think it’s a legitimate scandal how they ever arrived at the decision to run again in the first place.”

Jennings emphasized that Biden's family and staff have "a lot of explaining to do" concerning their handling of his cognitive state.

The commentary followed after many viewers noted that Biden's address left them with unanswered questions rather than providing clarity.
