In a recent rally in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Republican vice-presidential nominee Senator J.D. Vance criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for questioning his and former President Donald Trump's loyalty to the United States. The event was part of Trump's campaign efforts, with Vance addressing a crowd at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
Harris had previously posted a video on July 17 expressing concerns over Vance's loyalty, stating, "Donald Trump has picked his new running mate: J.D. Vance. He will be loyal only to Trump, not to our country." She also mentioned that if elected, Vance would support implementing an "extreme Project 2025 plan" during a second Trump term.
In response to Harris' remarks, Vance questioned her actions and emphasized his own contributions to the nation. "What the hell have you done to question our loyalty to the United States of America?" he asked during his speech. He highlighted his service in the United States Marine Corps and referenced Trump's sacrifices as well.
Vance continued by encouraging attendees and supporters nationwide to work towards re-electing Trump as President. His speech received significant applause from those present at the venue.
The rally took place amid heightened tensions following a deadly attack on Israel by Hezbollah earlier that day. Addressing this incident, Vance remarked on its implications for global stability when Trump is not in office.
Outside the arena, many supporters gathered despite reaching full capacity inside. Videos shared online showed large crowds listening to Vance's statements from outside the venue.
