CNN is reportedly considering significant layoffs among its on-air talent following a decline in ratings after the recent presidential election. Reports suggest that high-profile figures such as Jake Tapper, Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper, Kaitlan Collins, and Erin Burnett could be affected.

According to Nielsen ratings obtained by Mediaite, both MSNBC and CNN have experienced a drop in viewership since last week's election results. Puck News reported that "insiders told Puck the new round of firings will likely see on-air talent like them affected, as the network’s new CEO looks to free up finances amid waning ratings."

The Daily Mail also noted that despite their substantial salaries—Tapper at $7 million, Blitzer at $3 million, Cooper at $20 million annually, Collins at $3 million, and Burnett at $6 million—some of these personalities were recently denied raises.

These developments come as CNN seeks to restructure its financial strategy under its new leadership due to declining audience numbers.
