Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana criticized Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer during an appearance on the Will Cain Show on FOX News. Kennedy commented on the recent government shutdown and divisions within the Democratic Party.

Will Cain, host of the show, asked Kennedy about disagreements among Democrats over reopening the government. “There’s something about this government reopening that has completely divided the left,” Cain said.

Kennedy responded by saying, “Senator Schumer gambled, and he lost, and he’s kind of walking around now looking like a guy who just lost his luggage. He did this to try to make the Bolshevik wing, which is in control of his party like him, love him, and now they’re madder than ever at him.”

Kennedy also suggested that Schumer is concerned about challenges from more progressive members of his party. “There are a lot of Democrats, one of whom I think is Senator Schumer, who understand that, uh, the loon wing of his party are a bunch of loons. But, I think he’s scared of them,” Kennedy said. “I think his testicles are on back order from China.”

The remarks came as some Democrats expressed frustration with Schumer for ending a government shutdown that lasted more than 40 days. There is speculation that Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez could challenge Schumer for his Senate seat.
