Conservative commentator Sean Davis appeared on FOX News this week to discuss recent concerns among Democrats regarding former President Donald Trump’s approach to crime in Washington, DC. Davis, who is the CEO of The Federalist, addressed the political implications if Trump is able to reduce crime in the nation’s capital.
“I think one thing Democrats are concerned about is if Donald Trump is able to clean up D.C., certainly if he’s able to do it under 30 days, then it shows that there’s no excuse for these other cities like L.A. and Chicago and Detroit and Philadelphia to be crime-ridden hellscapes,” said Federalist CEO Sean Davis during an interview on Jesse Watters Primetime. “It shows that that is a choice deliberately made by the Democrats who run those cities and that’s the last thing Democrats want, is for people to see that safety is a choice and it’s a choice Democrats are refusing to make.”
Davis argued that successful efforts by Trump in Washington could prompt residents of other large cities with Democratic leadership—such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, and Philadelphia—to question whether high crime rates are preventable.
The discussion comes amid ongoing debates about public safety policies in major U.S. cities and the political narratives surrounding them.
