Efforts to improve DeKalb County’s water infrastructure will continue with the start of the San Gabriel Water Main Replacement Project on Thursday, October 9. The project involves replacing about 43,100 linear feet of ductile iron water pipe between Columbia Drive and Glenwood Road.
The construction is scheduled to last approximately 14 months, from October 2025 through December 2026, unless delayed by weather. This initiative is part of a larger $4.27 billion capital improvement program aimed at increasing the capacity and service quality of watershed systems in the community.
Construction work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on major holidays. Residents should expect more noise and traffic during these hours.
Community members interested in learning more about related projects can attend a virtual meeting for the Dunwoody Knoll Water Main Replacement Project on Thursday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m., accessible via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/87851950415.
