On Friday morning, the FBI conducted a raid at the home of John Bolton in Bethesda, Maryland. The incident drew comparisons to a previous high-profile raid involving Roger Stone, a longtime Republican consultant and ally of former President Donald Trump.
Stone’s own experience with law enforcement occurred six years ago when his Fort Lauderdale residence was raided by federal agents. At that time, CNN cameras were present outside his home, capturing footage as Stone was led out at gunpoint. The event received significant media attention and public reaction.
Following news of the Bolton raid, Stone responded on social media platform X. “Good morning. John Bolton. How does it feel to have your home raided at 6 o’clock in the morning?” Stone wrote, referencing the early hour of both raids. He also questioned the absence of media coverage during Bolton’s encounter: “Wait! Where was CNN?”
Stone further commented on what he described as political loyalty within Republican circles: “What goes around comes around- and Roger Stone still ‘did nothing wrong,’” repeating a phrase that became associated with him after his own legal troubles.
In addition to his comments, Stone posted an image from his arrest wearing a shirt bearing the slogan “Roger Stone Did Nothing Wrong.”
Bolton has been known as an advisor who later became critical of Trump’s administration.
