CBS has reached a settlement in the lawsuit brought by former President Donald Trump regarding the editing of an interview with Kamala Harris during the 2024 election. Reports indicate that CBS opted to settle to avoid Trump’s legal team accessing internal network documents and communications.

During the discovery process, Trump’s lawyers reportedly uncovered claims about President Joe Biden’s October 2023 interview on “60 Minutes.” According to New York Times journalist James Stewart, “Ms. Redstone said CBS personnel had told her that in October 2023, when Scott Pelley of ‘60 Minutes’ interviewed President Joseph R. Biden Jr., the president had seemed drowsy and had to be prodded to answer.”

Scott Pelley, who conducted the interview, described any physical or mental issues Biden displayed as a result of “a rough week.” He stated, “Biden will be 81 next month,” and added that Biden acknowledged his lifelong stutter can return when he is tired but made time for the interview to discuss his support for Israel following attacks on civilians.

Reports from CBS staffers referenced by Redstone suggest that Biden appeared “drowsy” during the interview and required prompting to respond.

The details emerged as part of information revealed during legal proceedings related to Trump’s lawsuit against CBS over its handling of political interviews during the election cycle.
