Openings on Doraville’s Committees and Commissions

0Comments

The City of Doraville relies on the involvement and input of it’s residents. Which is why the city has formed the various resident-led committees, commissions, and boards it has today.

Three these boards are in search of new members. Applications are open now for each of these positions.  We want advisory teams that reflect our community’s personality, diversity, and culture. So we encourage any and all who may be interested to apply.

Art Commission
The City of Doraville is seeking applicants for our Doraville Art Commission. The Commission is looking for someone devoted to developing and promoting the arts in the city. The current vacancy will be for an original term of 1-year. Once the initial period finishes, it can be re-appointed for a 3-year Term subject to Council approval.

Celebration Committee
The Celebration Committee is comprised of community members who provide feedback and direction to the Mayor and City Council on potential events that could be implemented by the city. The City of Doraville has a commitment to celebrating it’s vast cultural diversity, community, and good will. Potential members should have drive and passion for those same principals. Terms on this committee are thirteen (13) months running from December to December.

Planning Commission

The Commission serves as an advisory board that provides recommendations to the City Council on such matters as zoning ordinance text amendments, property zoning changes, land use changes, conditional use permits, and variances.  The Commission may also conduct research on other issues at the direction of the City Council.   Commission meetings are typically held once a month and are open to the public to hear cases and provide comments to the Commission.
