Democrats are focusing on encouraging blue states to redraw their House maps as a response to Republican redistricting activities in Texas. In Texas, former President Donald Trump has indicated plans to target five additional House seats for Republicans.
The event’s location on Martha’s Vineyard highlights the island’s popularity among prominent Democrats. Massachusetts currently has no Republican representation in Congress, despite more than a third of its voters supporting Trump in recent elections. This situation reflects broader concerns about gerrymandering practices that have resulted in single-party dominance in several New England states.
