In the days leading up to Charlie Kirk’s assassination, reports have emerged that the website Jezebel hired individuals described as witches to place a hex on Kirk. Megyn Kelly provided an update on this development, stating that both Charlie and Erika Kirk became aware of the alleged curse prior to his death and were unsettled by it.
Kelly said, “When I was out in Arizona last week I learned that, two weeks before Charlie Kirk was assassinated, the far left website Jezebel declared that it had a mission to cast bad luck or a curse on Charlie. They wanted to hurt him in some way. They declared, ‘If the far-right misogynist with a bad haircut wants to villainize independent women, Jezebel is more than happy to be the hag of his nightmares.’”
According to Kelly, Jezebel used Etsy—an online marketplace typically known for arts and crafts—to arrange for someone to cast a spell against Kirk. She continued, “Etsy, the website known for making arts and crafts on demand, will happily cast a hex on someone through its ‘witches’ if you ask them to…”
The individual involved questioned whether casting such a curse was ethical: “Is it ethical to curse a man I’ve never met? Probably not. But is it unethical to let him keep talking? Yes.” The person reportedly ordered a spell intended “to MAKE EVERYONE HATE HIM” and paid extra for additional services. For accuracy, they also provided Kirk’s date of birth.
Kelly noted that the witch claimed the effects would be seen within two to three weeks after August 23—18 days before Kirk’s death.
On the night before Kirk was killed, Erika Kirk reportedly called a friend over so they could pray together for protection following news of the attempted hex.
