Joe Rogan recently addressed the public reaction to the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, criticizing progressive groups for celebrating the incident. During a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan expressed surprise and concern over how many people on the political left responded positively to Kirk’s assassination.

Rogan said, “The Charlie Kirk thing f—— opened up my eyes. I never expected so many people would celebrate that man’s murder.” He made these remarks while speaking with Brandon Coleman, vocalist for the country rock band The Red Clay Strays. Coleman agreed with Rogan’s assessment, saying, “That is evil.”

Rogan further commented on what he saw as an unexpected response from everyday individuals: “It’s just bizarre, like, normal people that, I think, think they’re good people, and they think, they genuinely think, that guy was a bad guy. And I don’t think they’re right. And I think they were indoctrinated. And I don’t agree with everything that Charlie Kirk said or did.”

He reflected on Kirk’s public persona and activities before his death: “but it infuriated people because they felt like this guy is going against the progress that was being made in society.” Rogan added, “I don’t think some of the things he said he should have said,” but noted his shock at the reactions: “but the fact that people were cheering when he died — normal people, housewives, moms, like f—— people working at banks, people working at various industries — celebrating a man getting shot in front of his kids in the front of the whole world. Like what the f— is wrong with us?”

In a video clip circulating online from the podcast episode, Rogan stated: “The Charlie Kirk thing opened up my eyes. I never expected so many people would celebrate that man’s murder. That is evil … especially when you’re seeing people on the left, that are supposed to be … the inclusive people, celebrating gun violence. That’s insane.”

These comments come amid widespread debate about political discourse and responses to violence against public figures.
