Illinois Governor JB Pritzker recently denied calling Republicans “Nazis” during a press conference, stating, “That is completely false. I have never called Republicans ‘Nazis.’” He made this statement after addressing questions about his past comments and asserting that former President Donald Trump, not Democrats, is “actively fanning the flames of division.”

However, videos circulating online show Pritzker comparing the Trump administration to Nazi Germany in previous remarks. In his official State of the State address earlier this year, Pritzker said:

“The authoritarian playbook is laid bare here: They point to a group of people who don’t look like you and tell you to blame them for your problems. If you think I’m overreacting and sounding the alarm too soon, consider this: It took the Nazis one month, three weeks, two days, eight hours, and 40 minutes to dismantle a constitutional republic.”

Footage from social media platforms shows these comments being repeated on multiple occasions.
