Greater Atlanta Christian School issued the following announcement on May 19. 

GAC’s Athletic Director Tim Hardy announced that Sean Manuel has been named as the new Head Strength Coach.

Listed below is a message from Coach Hardy providing context and background information on Coach Manuel:

I am excited to announce the hiring of Coach Sean Manuel as our new Head Strength Coach. Sean Manual comes to GAC with a wealth of knowledge and experience from his more than 20 years in Strength and Conditioning. He and his family will be moving to Georgia from Las Vegas where he served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at UNLV. Prior to that, he was the Head Strength Coach at Bishop Gorman, a high school athletic powerhouse.

He is a positive and inspirational coach who will bring high-energy to our Performance Training program. His training program places special emphasis on injury resilience, functional mobility, and power development. In addition to his training expertise, Coach Manuel has a deep Christian faith. He is passionate about investing into the hearts and minds of student athletes, helping them to achieve their full potential. We believe that he will make a powerful impact on all of our student athletes and are excited to welcome Coach Manual and his family to GAC!

A few facts about Coach Manuel:

  • Director of Strength and Conditioning UNLV Football – 2017-2020
  • Head Strength Coach at Bishop Gorman HS NV, Las Vegas – 2010 – 2016
  • At Bishop Gorman, won 3 National Championships (45-0) and 8 State Championships in Football. 
  • At Bishop Gorman, trained all sports which included 5 State Championships in Basketball and 1 State Championship in Baseball  
  • Trained over 60 male and female athletes who earned Division I scholarships as well as coached 7 All Americans including 3 McDonalds All Americans in Basketball
  • Awarded in 2008 and 2012 the Samson National High School Strength Coach of the Year Award
  • Played Football at New Mexico State, earning All American honors at the tight end position. 
  • Drafted by the San Francisco 49er’s in the 7th round, along with his twin brother who was also drafted to the 49er’s in the same round
  • Worked as a Lead Minister in 2001-2004 for the Bay Area Christian Church 
  • Married to Rebekah Manuel with 5 children, Jaden, Mar, Aliana, Santino and Alessia.

We are really excited to have Sean Manuel at GAC and believe he will do great job of leading our Performance Training program.
