Fatality Crash Investigation

The Dunwoody Police Department is currently investigating a fatality crash, which occurred at 1-285 EB at N. Peachtree Rd on 12/03/22 at 2:14am. 

Officers responded to the above location in reference to a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers found a black Jeep Cherokee and red Honda minivan with significant damage to both vehicles. The initial investigation revealed the driver of the Jeep was traveling the wrong direction on 1-285 EB at N. Peachtree Rd. The Jeep was going west in the eastbound lanes. The Jeep was traveling in the lane closest to the median when it struck the red Honda minivan in a head-on crash. The driver of the Jeep sustained serious injuries and is recovering in the hospital. The driver of the Honda, a 59-year-old male, died at the scene.
