During a recent broadcast of Mark Halperin’s ‘2 Way’ program, Democratic strategist Dan Turrentine expressed his admiration for former President Donald Trump’s role in brokering a peace deal between Israel and Hamas. Turrentine highlighted the significance of Trump’s achievements in the Middle East, particularly after overcoming various challenges and winning the 2024 presidential election.
Turrentine stated, “I was struck just thinking about the arc of Donald Trump’s 10 years — and just all the ups and downs and where he was just a few years ago, the unconventional nature of kind of how he operates, the personnel around him. We hold him to account rightfully when they err — but this is an instance where it spectacularly worked. And it’s historic and he deserves all the credit and basking in everything today. You tip your hat to him.”
The peace agreement involved Trump traveling to the Middle East to oversee its first phase, which included securing the release of hostages taken by Hamas on October 7, 2023. Turrentine remarked on ‘2 Way’ that he was impressed by how much Trump had evolved since entering politics about a decade ago.
