DeKalb crews repair broken water main on Midway Road; service interruptions expected

DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews are repairing a 36-inch broken water main at 3124 Midway Road. The department announced that customers in the area may experience interruptions to their water service while repairs are underway.

Traffic controls have been set up, and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and expect delays. “Customers in the area may experience interruption of water service due to the damaged water line,” according to the DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management.

The county has asked residents seeking more information to contact the DeKalb County Watershed Department by email or phone.

DeKalb County schools enrolled 98,287 students during the 2022-23 school year, a decrease of 2.2% from the previous year, according to data from the Georgia Department of Education (https://www.gadoe.org/). White students made up 14% of this student body, ranking as the third largest ethnic group in county schools (https://www.gadoe.org/).
