DeKalb County has announced changes to its residential sanitation collection schedule for the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays. According to county officials, there will be no collection service on Thursday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas Day, and on Thursday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s Day.
Residents whose regular collection day falls on either holiday will have their service moved to Friday of the same week. Specifically, those scheduled for Thursday pickups on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 will instead receive service on Friday, Dec. 26 and Friday, Jan. 2.
There are no changes for customers with Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday collection days during these weeks; their services will proceed as usual.
Additionally, the Seminole Road Landfill, Central and North Transfer Stations, Customer Care call center and administration building will be closed on both holidays. All facilities will resume normal operations the following Fridays.
For further information about the revised schedule or other sanitation services, residents can contact the Sanitation Division’s Customer Care team at 404-294-2900 or sanitation@dekalbcountyga.gov. Updates are also available at www.dekalbsanitation.com or by following @DKalbSanitation on X.
