The DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management (DWM) will hold a second virtual community meeting regarding the Panola Road Water Main Replacement Project on Thursday, October 30, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be accessible via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/86950213231.
Officials stated that those who attended the first meeting earlier in the month do not need to participate again, as the same information will be provided.
The project began on October 13, 2025, and involves replacing about 11,400 linear feet of ductile iron water pipe in two phases. Phase I covers Salem Road east to Big Miller Road, then north to Panola Road and ending at Minola Drive/Fairington Road. Phase II starts from Snapfinger and Panola Roads and continues northeast on Panola Road—including Twin Lakes Drive—ending at Salem Road.
Phase I is expected to last approximately 11 months, from October 2025 through September 2026. Phase II is projected to take about 10 months, running from January through October 2026, depending on weather conditions.
“This project is part of DeKalb County’s $4.27 billion Capital Improvement Program (CIP) to enhance capacity, reliability, and service within the County’s watershed system,” according to DWM.
Construction work will occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, except major holidays. Residents and businesses should expect more noise and traffic during these hours.
For further information or questions about the project, residents can call the DWM Project Information Line at 1-800-986-1108 or email projectinfo@dekalbcountyga.gov.
