The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will host its third annual Fall Festival on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The event is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. at the E.M.B.A.R.C. Youth Farm, located at 1185 Rock Chapel Road in Lithonia.
The festival is open to all ages and offers a range of activities including arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, a campsite-style s’mores station, guided garden tours, honey tasting, local vendors, face painting, a petting zoo, and pony rides.
“This event has truly become a highlight of our fall season,” said Kevin Buford, Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Deputy Director. “We love seeing the joy it brings to children and families, and we’re excited to continue the tradition for another year.”
Organizers recommend that attendees wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.
DeKalb County continues to serve a large community with nearly 100,000 students enrolled in its schools during the 2022-23 academic year according to state data (https://www.gadoe.org/). Enrollment dropped by about 2.2% compared to the previous year (https://www.gadoe.org/), with white students making up approximately 14% of the student body during that period (https://www.gadoe.org/).
