Abby Newton ’25 and Gavin Traylor ’26, two students who took Computer Science in fall 2022, were recently recognized by Carnegie Mellon University for their creativity and award-winning excellence in the CMU Computer Science Academy Creative Task Competition.

The contest requires students to use creativity, logic, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to program a creative task that applies to what they have learned.

Both students submitted Lovett-themed games that are fun and challenging to play:

Abby’s “Battle of Buckhead” celebrates the annual Lovett-Westminster football game.

Gavin’s “Lovett Frogger” pits Lovett against our favorite rival schools before crossing the Chattahoochee River for the win.
