The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Feb. 15 meeting:

  • The Mayor and Council approved the appointment of Ariana Bryant and Jerry Goebeler to the Board of Directors for the Brookhaven Convention and Visitors Bureau (Explore Brookhaven).
     
  • The Mayor and Council approved the appointment of Brian D. Brown to the Brookhaven Arts and Culture Commission.
  • The Mayor and Council approved the appointment of Sharletta McKinney to the Brookhaven Planning Commission.
  • The Mayor and Council approved a consent agenda which includes:
     
    • The minutes of the Jan. 24. 2023, Work Session and Regular Meetings.
       
    • Approval of the RAISE 2023 Application for Peachtree Creek Greenway Phase II.
       
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend Chapter 14, Land Development and Subdivisions, Article III, Tree Preservation, Management and Maintenance, Section 14-55 of Brookhaven Code of Ordinances.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the 2022 Budget, appropriating the amounts shown in Exhibit A as expenditures and transferring Intra-Departmental Appropriations for FY2022.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a resolution re-affirming and amending the Brookhaven Park Improvements Project as part of the Brookhaven Park Master Plan.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a resolution affirming and amending the Briarwood Park Improvements Project as part of the Briarwood Park Master Plan.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a change order for ADR MUP PHII Design – Michael Baker International (MBI) for $49,255 under the on-call engineering professional services contract for design of multi-use path from Brenton Drive NE to West Nancy Creek Drive along the eastern side of Ashford Dunwoody Road.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a Contract with Southeastern Site Development for $1,929,958 for the construction of the W. Nancy Creek Drive Bridge.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a supplemental resolution to approve the terms of the Brookhaven Urban Redevelopment Agency Revenue Bonds, Series 2023.
  • The Council approved a resolution to ask the Georgia General Assembly to select Brookhaven as a pilot community for local choice voting in the 2023 General Municipal Election Cycle
