Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has been recognized by Foundry’s Computerworld as one of the 2026 Best Places to Work in IT. This marks the eighth consecutive year that Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has appeared on the list, with a ranking of 15th among large organizations—its highest position to date.
Jeremy Meller, Chief Information Officer at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, commented on the award: “Healthcare has a unique opportunity to embrace bold innovation right now, as many rapidly developing technology and AI advancements are starting to produce real results. When we opened Arthur M. Blank Hospital in 2024, we designed patient, family, and provider experiences from the ground up, leveraging the latest technologies to transform care delivery. From robotic delivery systems and location-aware patient engagement platforms to integrated medical devices powering AI-driven decision support, these capabilities enable us to provide increasingly exceptional care. As we continue to layer AI onto this digital foundation, we are unlocking even greater potential—personalizing experiences, surfacing insights from system-wide data, and empowering our teams to make faster, better-informed decisions.”
The information technology division at Children’s includes analysts, developers, technicians, engineers and information architects who manage applications and sensitive digital data. Their responsibilities cover supporting organizational operations and protecting patient health information while working to improve quality of care and patient experience. The organization highlights employee engagement through programs allowing non-management staff participation in advisory councils and offers onboarding cohorts for new hires focused on team building and learning key processes.
Barbara Call, global director of content strategy at Foundry, noted: “It’s clear that AI is having a disruptive impact on IT operations and IT talent. This year’s honorees demonstrate how organizations are proactively evolving their talent strategies to fill much-needed skills gaps and reskill existing staff to be more resilient and responsive to changing needs.”
Computerworld’s annual Best Places to Work in IT list evaluates companies based on benefits packages, career development opportunities, workplace culture modernization efforts and employee engagement initiatives. The rankings are reviewed by industry experts before publication.
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta operates as Georgia’s only freestanding pediatric healthcare system with over 60 specialties across three hospitals—the Arthur M.
