Brookhaven seeks public input on City Hall design

The City of Brookhaven is seeking public input on the look of its future City Hall. Residents are encouraged to take part in a survey to gauge their visual design preferences.

The survey asks questions about residents’ architectural and artistic preferences, as well as preferred dining options and how an open public space should be utilized, among other items. Public input will be integrated into a final document that will offer inspiration and guidance to the Brookhaven City Council on the building’s ultimate design. The survey will be open through the end of January.

“I strongly encourage residents to get involved in this process,” said Mayor John Ernst. “This building is for the community and should stand for Brookhaven for decades to come and will represent the City in a physical form. This is your chance to tell the architect what you think Brookhaven looks like.”

In June, the City of Brookhaven approved the terms of an agreement for a new City Hall location to be built on the MARTA-owned property, with an anticipated groundbreaking in the fall of 2023. Brookhaven currently leases a building on Peachtree Road. Subsequently, in September the City approved a contract with the Sizemore Group for the building’s design. The City Hall project will be funded through Brookhaven’s Special Services District.

Residents can learn more about the project and participate in the survey at https://brookhavencityhall.wixsite.com/brookhavenproject. Additional public input opportunities and events will be announced.
