Agnes Scott College issued the following announcement on Mar. 23. 

Rafael Ocasio, Charles A. Dana Professor of Spanish, recently co-authored his ninth book “The Dissidence of Reinaldo Arenas with Sandro R. Barros and Angela L. Williams.

In a blog post with publisher University Press of Florida, Ocasio highlights Arenas’ contributions as a ground-breaking queer writer and activist in Cuba. The piece is a perfect introduction to the book, outlining the timeline of Arenas’ life from his activism in Cuba to his exile in the United States.
