Martha Raddatz, chief global affairs anchor for ABC News, acknowledged President Donald Trump’s efforts in brokering a peace deal between Israel and Hamas. The agreement is expected to result in the release of all hostages early next week.
During an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America, Raddatz described the development as “a remarkable achievement” and stated, “Trump certainly deserves credit” for his involvement. She elaborated, “if this goes as planned, if we see the remaining hostages freed and Israel begin its withdrawal, it is a remarkable achievement, and President Trump most certainly deserves credit for his role.”
Raddatz detailed Trump’s approach: “He has done this through diplomacy, pressure, and the sheer force of his personality and persistence. He dispatched diplomats again and again, made threats in the last few days to Hamas, saying if they did not sign the deal, all hell would break loose. And they had the bombing of Iran as an example of that. But perhaps most importantly, he pushed [Israeli Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu in ways his predecessor and others have not.”
She also pointed to Trump’s relationship with Netanyahu as a factor in advancing negotiations. “If those hostages are freed, which would leave Hamas without their major bargaining tool, this is a huge moment for Donald Trump,” Raddatz concluded.
Other major networks, including NBC’s Today, also highlighted Trump’s leadership in reaching the conditional peace deal with Hamas, describing it as significant and noteworthy.
If the agreement proceeds as planned and the hostages are released, more media outlets are expected to recognize Trump’s role in the process.
